The original data set was provided by the consulting firm Shapiro and Associates Inc. Comprehensive plan categories existed in separate shape files that didn't match spatially with data provided by Pocatello City. No projection or coordinate system information was supplied with the original shape files. The first step was to merge the individual shape files and edit sliver polygons along edges that resulted from overlaps/underlaps. The merged data were then transformed so it would generally overlay on Pocatello City centerlines and parcel boundaries. Boundaries were then adjusted to better match Pocatello City centerlines and parcel boundaries. Finally, updates were made to plan categories and boundaries as specified by Pocatello City Planning and Development Services.
